2019 British Arts Medal Society Student Medal Project

I received a merit for this medal entry in the competition, as well as winning the opportunity to visit medallist Natasha Ratcliffe in her Cornwall studio to discuss each others work and try out different molding and casting processes.

The medal depicts a snail emerging from its shell on one side and wrapping itself around a bike wheel on the other. The quote around the edge reads "If everything seems under control, you're not going fast enough."
