These silicone tongues were made for the purpose of my rockpool installation for my degree show. They have been cast in silicone from plasticine. I used cuttlefish to press into the plasticine to create the tongue-like texture. The tongue inside the mussel shell is a part of my Rockpool installation. I have produced many casts from the same mold and collected many empty mussel shells, creating a cluster of mussels with strange animal-like tongues inside the rockpool.
